Foreign Trade and Investment Opportunities in Turkey
Turkey - Netherlands Foreign Trade
The Netherlands has always been among the top trade partners of Turkey. The exports directed to the Netherlands ranked 9 th both in 2006 and 2007 in the total Turkish exports. Neverthless it has ranked 11th in 2008 in total Turkish exports with a value of about US $ 3.1 billion. On the other hand, the imports from the Netherlands ranked 17th in the total imports of Turkey at the same year and realized as nearly US $ 3.0 billion.
The foreign trade balance with the Netherlands has improved in favor of Turkey starting from 2004 and this trend continued so far. While a trade surplus of US $ 234 million had been recorded in 2004, it amounted at US $ 395 million and US$ 361 in 2006 and 2007, respectively. It has been realized as US $ 64 by the end of 2008.
